Xylazine and Wound Care Pamphlet
Xylazine (Tranq) is a relatively new street drug in the US. This non-opioid medication is used as a sedative and muscle relaxant in veterinary medicine. Xylazine causes skin ulcers that appear atypically and rapidly worsen over time.
Due to the newness of this drug, there is not a lot of accessible public information about xylazine. This pamphlet was a collaboration between SUPHR's Medical and Communications teams. Both teams agreed that it was important that this pamphlet was not only information about the drug, xylazine, but also a teaching tool for safe wound care. I designed this pamphlet to be friendly, accessible in both language and images, and pocket-sized so it is convenient and easily portable.
